The first film festival to come to Katy, Texas, the Katy Film Festival is going to be an awesome event. We're inviting entrant submissions from all over the Houston area. What we're really looking forward to are submissions from young movie makers - 9 to 18 years old. We'd like to show the community what kind of talent and potential is laying dormant among us.
The goal of the Katy Film Festival is to bolster participation of young people in the visual arts through education, encouragement and exhibition.
We would like to raise enough funds to be able to contribute to these young people's formal education. One part of the plan is to contribute to a large scale Fine Arts group. Another is to develop a scholarship program for young artists.
Check out the About page to learn more.
Check back here often and we'll keep you updated on participation numbers, sponsors, news and movie submissions.
